Mitchell takes reins as Thoroughbred president
Changes were needed when Thoroughbred took on a brokerage and acquisition division, hence the appointment of partner Spencer Mitchell as president.
Thoroughbred Aviation president Spencer Mitchell.

Spencer Mitchell has taken on the role of president at Kentucky-based sales, acquisitions and consulting company Thoroughbred Aviation.

The company has seen substantial growth since the implementation of its aircraft brokerage and acquisition division, and that growth has brought the opportunity for strategic leadership changes. Since joining as a partner in 2020, Mitchell has been a key motivator in bringing in clients and establishing Thoroughbred Aviation as a player in a crowded marketplace.

“When Spencer came on board, he had a very clear and strategic vision about how he wanted to implement and develop a singular approach to the brokerage world here at Thoroughbred. Since then, he has executed and grown that vision, and we would not be where we are without it,” says CEO and founder Nathan Winkle. “We strongly believe in our mission, and our leadership structure needed to reflect Thoroughbred Aviation's and Spencer's impact.” Alongside Mitchell and Winkle, Melanie Winkle serves as controller and co-founder and Lee Brewster is vice president.

Mitchell adds: " I am honoured to be appointed president of Thoroughbred Aviation. With an incredible team by my side, we are poised to redefine private aviation transactions, deliver unrivalled service and set new industry standards. I am grateful for the trust of our clients, partners and stakeholders as we embark on this exciting chapter together. As president, I am committed to elevating your aircraft experience and leading Thoroughbred Aviation to new heights of success."
