MRO provider Heli-One has introduced Sikorsky S-92 base maintenance capability at its facility in Poland to broaden its service offering for an international portfolio of customers.
The programme represents the latest investment in the base at Rzeszow-Jasionka airport. Final regulatory approval is now being sought for a development that will add a significant new dimension to operations at the facility and extends capabilities in line with market requirements. Base personnel have completed type rating courses and formal on the job training, while the Rzeszow facility has also been equipped with all necessary tools for S-92 base maintenance activities.
“This is a major step forward for the base, positioning us as a highly competitive option for S-92 maintenance,” says general manager of sales, commercial and customer support Carolyn Forsyth. “Our focus in everything we do is upon quality delivery alongside competitive rates, and those same principles are being applied as we work to introduce this new capability.”
The base already provides S-92 line maintenance and storage services, featuring hangar resources for hosting aircraft in a controlled environment ahead of a return to operation, so the new capability will enable it to offer the complete S-92 package: base maintenance, storage and return-to-service support.
“The process of working towards S-92 base maintenance approval has demonstrated the benefits of being part of a successful global organisation,” says base maintenance manager Lukasz Kozik. “We've tapped into the platform experience of the other Heli-One bases throughout. That opportunity to collaborate has been extremely welcome and valuable.”
S-92 base maintenance services build on the Rzeszow facility's existing capabilities for the AS332, H225 and AW139 platforms. The 65,000 sq ft facility is Heli-One's newest facility; it opened in 2014 and was designed applying the latest LEAN principles to maximise efficiency.
