Panama City Beach, Florida-based Beach Mosquito Control District (BMCD) has taken delivery of a Bell 505, to be used to administer insect-repellant spray and maintain a high-quality environment for residents.
“BMCD is thrilled to use the Bell 505 to enhance its mosquito control efforts for Panama City Beach residents,” says president James Clauson. “We look forward to working with Bell as we integrate the 505 into our operations and demonstrate the utility benefits of this aircraft.”
BMCD is the first mosquito control district in the US to utilise the Bell 505 to combat mosquitoes. The organisation seeks to protect public health, safety and welfare by using science-based, environmentally sensitive, integrated mosquito control techniques employing public education, surveillance, source reduction, biological control and the judicious use of pesticides to enhance the quality of life for District residents.
“Since its entry into service, our customers continuously praise the platform for its unparalleled performance during utility operations,” says Bell managing director, North America Lane Evans. “The Bell 505 combines an affordable price point with low operating costs and advanced technology, and we're thrilled BMCD has selected this aircraft to support its community.”
