Aircraft managed co-ownership company Partners in Aviation (PIA) has accredited Products and Services membership in the International Aircraft Dealers Association (IADA). The company's ownership programme targets low-usage operators, giving them the financial advantages of a partnership yet the independence that comes with sole ownership, within the stringent requirements of the FAA and the IRS.
While only seven per cent of the world's aircraft dealers have earned IADA membership, that elite group buys and sells more aircraft by dollar volume than the rest of world's dealers combined, about $6 billion in volume annually.
“In the 30 years since its inception, IADA has done a superb job of creating a highly respected, powerful resource for our industry that attracts firms dedicated, even obsessed, with delivering unmatched quality to its customers,” says PIA founder Mark Molloy. “IADA's efforts in establishing standards, promoting transparency, providing accreditation and creating professional curriculum and programming have served to increase the level of respect and comfort afforded to aircraft transactions with its members by the public. It's a team I want to be a part of.”
For IADA Products and Services members like PIA, the membership is an earned privilege, requiring rigorous application vetting, sponsorship by at least three current IADA members and a winning vote-in from the IADA membership ranks. In service to the membership, PIA will be spearheading development of educational content to share with IADA members specific to its special niche: the benefits of structured aircraft co-ownership.
"We are very pleased that Partners in Aviation has become one of our newest Products and Services members," adds IADA executive director Wayne Starling. "PIA's thoughtful business model permits more individuals and companies to realise the benefits of private flying."
