London-based Concorde Airport Security (CAS) has been able to launch its security service firm this year, despite the continuing challenges of the global pandemic. CAS launched at the start of lockdown in the UK when a former supplier at London Stansted airport exited the sector. In the space of 10 days in April it went from zero to being fully operational, a move that prevented more than 20 job losses.
The organisation covers a range of security services including FBO and airport screening, aircraft search and guarding, and meet and assist. It has also introduced additional services along the way, such as sniffer dogs, drones and, most recently, training services, vetting services and cargo screening.
MD Paul Forster states: “I am so proud of the work the team put in to make the business operational in such a short period of time. We have a highly experienced senior management team, and all of our officers are so committed that I am sure the business will quickly grow and become well respected for our professional service and 'can do' attitude.”
As has been the case for many aviation and airline services, due to additional outbreaks of COVID-19 across the globe, bookings that would traditionally have been made in advance are now becoming more last minute. This means that the team at CAS is having to be much more reactive to ensure resilience for its clients on a 24/7 basis. CAS has been consistently developing its staff in order to meet this demand.
