Camarillo, California-based FBO and charter organisation Air 7 has promoted Matt McKee to facilities manager. His responsibilities will include oversight, maintenance and coordination of the company's office, FBO and aircraft hangar facilities as well as all ground support equipment.
With over 10 years of FBO and aviation experience, McKee has worked in FBO line service operations, refueller management, facility maintenance and aircraft services support. He joined Air 7 as one of the first employees in 2012, serving as a line services technician.
His current and previous technical skills include electrical, carpentry, pneumatics, refueller technologies, plumbing, aircraft tugs, hangar operations, building maintenance and mechanical repairs.
“I am from a family of technical professionals,” he says. “From my father, who runs a successful HVAC operation, to my uncle, who is an expert auto technician, I inherited the skills to be a jack of all trades. Air 7 has multiple systems in play, and I have been fortunate to be in a position to find the solutions for any number of operational issues and updates.”
“This is a well-deserved promotion for Matt, who is an invaluable team member,” adds CEO Bob Oliver. “When you work with Matt, you are immediately aware of his technical skills, his mechanical aptitude, his ability to implement solid solutions and his understanding of difficult and complex projects. We are extremely proud of Matt and very pleased with his recent promotion.”
Air 7 has also promoted Kathleen Godoy to senior business analyst. Having joined Air 7 in 2017, Godoy will be responsible for providing strategic analysis of Air 7 processes, services and general business operations data.
“Kathleen will be a key contributor to the expansion plans for Air 7 as we evolve into our next phase of business development,” says Oliver. “Over the past three years, she has demonstrated a strong commitment to learning our policies, procedures and various administrative systems. This dedication and team spirit hasn't gone unnoticed, which is why Kathleen is an ideal choice for this position.”
In January 2019, Godoy was reassigned to the Air 7 accounting department as a business analyst, to assist in reviewing current accounting procedures, systems and to provide recommendations for efficiency changes. As a result of her efforts, she earned the lead position in the Air 7 accounting department in March 2020.
“I am so pleased to have started out with a customer service role at Air 7,” she comments. “To learn the business from the customer first perspective and eventually transition to audits, accounting and now in an analyst leadership role, was significant. To use my degree and career focus in a way that it was meant to be is a big accomplishment and extremely gratifying. I am looking forward to assisting our executive team with our continued success and growth.”
