New York is target for Airstream expansion
Such has been the interest in its Distance Card that Airstream Jets is opening and staffing new premises far from its Florida operation, close to the heart of Manhattan.
Fueled by strong demand for its Distance Card programme, Airstream Jets is expanding operations.

Boca Raton, Florida-based aviation services and jet card provider Airstream Jets (ASJ) has expanded its operation to the northeast with a new office in Signature Flight Support's new south terminal at Teterboro airport, just a 20 minute drive from Manhattan. This will be led by industry veteran Debbie Higgins in her new role as president of operations, and there are plans to add additional staff during 2019 and 2020.

Higgins began her business aviation career in 1988 and covers managerial experience with several flight departments in the south Florida and New York areas. She is also the founder of the Aero Education Academy (AEA), which she started in 2017 to train and mentor future business aviation professionals. AEA offers students entry-level training and mentoring for a career in private aviation.

“In selecting our new office location, we felt it was important for us to have a presence in the heart of the world's leading financial centre,” she says. “We're very excited to open our new office at Teterboro airport to better service our New York clients, more easily interact with partners and attract the best and brightest talent.”

The expansion will accommodate increasing demand for ASJ's new Distance Card. According to CEO and founder Peter Maestrales the company's customer base is growing rapidly and revenues for 2019 are on pace to triple in comparison to last year's. The Distance Card is sold in increments of $25,000 and offers mileage-based pricing rather than a block-hour pricing system.
