Inmarsat installs 400th Jet ConneX inflight wi-fi solution
Backed by its complete High-Throughput Satellite network and cabin to cockpit broadband, Inmarsat's suite of services provide onboard connectivity such as has only been available on the ground.
The Inmarsat team celebrates the 400th Jet ConneX installation.

Global mobile satellite communications company Inmarsat's Jet ConneX business aviation inflight wi-fi solution has now been installed and activated on 400 business jets worldwide. Of these, 125 installations have taken place in the past four months alone.

Senior vice president of business and general aviation Kai Tang says: “The fact that 400 aircraft have been installed with Jet ConneX in under two years of commercial service introduction demonstrates the exceptionally high quality it delivers to the business aviation market. Inmarsat and its partners have worked hard to exceed expectations and this is reflected in the accelerating demand from both manufacturers and business jet owners, many from Fortune 500 companies.”

Jet ConneX comes as an option on current Gulfstream, Bombardier, Dassault and Embraer models. Adoption of the solution on a retrofit basis has also been substantial, with more than 40 type certificate and supplemental type certificate approvals already secured, including for all Boeing and Airbus VVIP type models.

Using Inmarsat's Ka-band satellite network, Jet ConneX offers data plans up to 15 Mbps and is designed to deliver reliable and consistent wi-fi that enables business travellers to stream wherever they are and whenever they want.

Aircraft connect to the service using JetWave hardware offered exclusively by Honeywell Aerospace and to date more than 1,800 JetWave systems have been delivered.
