Bombardier's service centre at London Biggin Hill airport is doubling its capacity with the addition of a new hangar and more than 70 technicians, providing customers in Europe with extended maintenance support. The hangar will be operational by the end of 2017 and the workforce will grow to approximately 115 employees by the middle of next year.
The additional hangar will be dedicated to heavy maintenance events, including 96-month and 120-month inspections. This will free up capacity in Bombardier's existing Biggin Hill hangar, enabling it to service twice as many aircraft, and expand the provision of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, modifications and avionics installations for Learjet, Challenger and Global types.
“Customer satisfaction is a top priority for us,” says Bombardier VP of customer experience Jean-Christophe Gallagher. “The new hangar and added technicians will offer our customers peace of mind and an exceptional level of support for all their maintenance needs. Bombardier knows its aircraft best, which is why we are seeing a great demand for our maintenance services in this region.”
Since its inauguration earlier this year, the Biggin Hill Bombardier facility has supported more than 40 maintenance events, including a Ka band high speed internet with Rockwell Collins Airborne Data Router retrofit installation. “This expansion is also a testament to Bombardier's dedication to growing business aviation in the UK and to strengthening its long-term relationship with London Biggin Hill,” Gallagher continues. “We are committed to growing our customer support network worldwide, and to ensuring we offer aftermarket products that add value throughout the lifecycle of our aircraft.”
