SaxonAir Charter of Norwich, UK, has signed an agreement to manage a further Hawker 900XP. The company has owned and operated its own 900XP for the past two years and has over this time gained considerable experience of the aircraft and a regular client following.

Ceo Alex Durand says: “We are all very pleased about the addition to our fleet. The aircraft is one of the most popular types we operate and it comes online at a great time; we have seen continued growth in our charter utilisation.”

The Hawker 900XP can travel 2,700nm carrying up to eight passengers, and has a spacious layout, cabin attendant service and hot food capability, all of which have been popular with the operator's customers. It has already flown to destinations in Russia, Italy, France and Israel.

The management deal will see SaxonAir provide crewing, continuing airworthiness, maintenance and operational support under commercial air charter use. The latest jet will be based at London Luton airport alongside the company's first Hawker 900XP and the smaller Hawker 400XP light jet. Other types on the SaxonAir roster include Citation Mustangs, a King Air 350 turboprop as well as a mixed helicopter fleet. They operate from the Norwich headquarters and other locations around Europe.

Commercial director Chris Mace adds that having an extra 900 will enable SaxonAir to take on more repeat business: “It is always very difficult when you have just one of an aircraft type. We can now deal with repeat bookings and ensure that we can keep the client's sights on their own fleet, as opposed to having to sub-contract it out.

“Our cabin service with hot food is a plus point; the nearest rival to this aircraft is the Citation XLS, which tends to deal with cold food on board only.”
