LNAA responded to over 1,620 missions last year. Its AW169 helicopter can be in use 19 hours of the day, as pilots, doctors and paramedics are trained to use night vision goggles that allow extended night flying.

A lot has happened at LNAA this year; from moving HQ to upgrading to a new helicopter. The charity hasn't stood still, and the call out numbers reflect the pace of transformation.

A helipad situated at the site of LNAA's new headquarters has been funded from the HELP Appeal, the UK charity dedicated to funding helipads at NHS hospitals that also helps fund helipads at AA bases for motorists.
