In-flight GSM service comes a step closer for AeroMobile

AeroMobile, developer of in-flight cell phone services, has been granted membership of the GSM Association. The membership allows the use of GSMA roaming agreements, meaning that AeroMobile's network can be made available through international roaming agreements to any other GSM operator worldwide.
Aeronautical satellite communications provider Inmarsat says its forthcoming SwiftBroadband system will take to the air next year and the service is expected to become commercially available at the end
of 2006.
AeroMobile, a joint ARINC and Telenor partnership, aims to provide business jet passengers with access to inflight mobile phone use and broadband services by the end of 2006.
