Northern Helicopter secures multi-year contract to polar regions

Northern Helicopter is preparing to operate three BK 117C1s for demanding Arctic and Antarctic flights. The helicopters will support the Polarstern research vessel Polarstern over the next three years.
In 2020, the crews of Northern Helicopter's rescue helicopters in the North Sea and Baltic Sea completed 254 training hours for winch manoeuvres on wind turbines, platforms and vessels, notching up 1,146 hours.
NHC Northern Helicopter has been providing HEMS and the emergency control centre for neighbouring RWE offshore wind farm Nordsee Ost since 1 November 2018. It will continue to serve 80 North Sea wind turbines.
